Free Parenting Clinic – Helping Children Navigate Friendships
17th November 2025
November’s free Parenting Clinic tackled one of the most emotionally charged parts of growing up: friendships.
Parents joined the session with questions about fallouts, friendship groups, feeling left out, and knowing when to step in versus when to let children figure things out for themselves. We talked honestly about why friendship issues can feel so intense for children and why our instinct to rescue, while understandable, isn’t always helpful.
Alongside reassurance and perspective, parents took away practical strategies they could use immediately, including:
• Why listening first often matters more than fixing
• Simple language to help children name what’s going on socially
• How to build resilience without dismissing big feelings
The session was grounded, supportive, and full of those “ohhh that makes sense” moments. Parents left feeling calmer, clearer, and more confident in how they support their children through the ups and downs of friendships.
These free clinics are part of my ongoing work to give parents realistic tools that fit real family life, not parenting ideals. To watch the friendship clinic, click on the photo below.
